These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MathPal AI mobile application ("MathPal AI," "we," "our," "us," or the "App"). By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. Description of the App

MathPal AI provides:

• AI-powered math problem solving
• Step-by-step explanations for educational purposes
• Photo recognition for handwritten and printed math problems
• Flashcard generation from topics, notes, and uploaded study materials
• Interactive multiple-choice quizzes and practice questions
• AI-powered educational assistance and study tools

The App is intended for informational, educational, and personal learning purposes only.

2. User Content

a. Questions, Notes, and Uploaded Content

You may upload, capture, or provide:

• Math problems and equations
• Homework assignments and worksheets
• Photos of handwritten or printed study materials
• Class notes and educational content
• Study topics, prompts, and text input

You retain ownership of your content. By submitting content, you grant MathPal AI a limited, non-exclusive license to process, analyze, store, and display the content solely for providing App functionality.

You agree not to upload or submit:

• Content you do not own or have permission to use
• Illegal, harmful, or offensive material
• Content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others
• Sensitive information you are not authorized to share
• Content that violates applicable laws or regulations

b. AI Interactions

You are responsible for any questions, prompts, topics, messages, or content submitted through the App's AI features.

You agree not to use the App to generate, distribute, or promote unlawful, harmful, misleading, abusive, or inappropriate content.

3. Educational Use and Academic Responsibility

MathPal AI is designed to support learning and educational development.

You acknowledge and agree that:

• You are responsible for how you use the App and its outputs.
• You must comply with your school's, institution's, or organization's academic integrity policies.
• The App should be used as a study aid and educational resource.
• We are not responsible for any academic consequences resulting from misuse of the App.

Users should use MathPal AI responsibly to enhance understanding and learning.

4. Use of AI Features

MathPal AI uses artificial intelligence to generate solutions, explanations, flashcards, quizzes, and other educational content.

You acknowledge and agree that:

• AI-generated answers may not always be accurate, complete, or error-free.
• Step-by-step explanations may occasionally contain mistakes or omissions.
• Flashcards and quizzes generated by AI may include inaccuracies.
• AI responses are intended for educational assistance only.
• The App does not guarantee improved academic performance or examination outcomes.

You agree to independently verify important information and use AI-generated content at your own discretion and risk.

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use the App for unlawful purposes.
• Upload harmful, infringing, or offensive content.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or interfere with the App.
• Abuse, overload, or exploit App systems.
• Circumvent security or access restrictions.
• Use the App to generate misleading, harmful, or fraudulent content.
• Use the App in a manner that violates academic policies, examination rules, or applicable laws.

6. Intellectual Property

All App content, including software, branding, logos, text, graphics, and features, is owned by or licensed to MathPal AI and protected under applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, distribute, or sell any part of the App.
• Reverse engineer or reproduce App functionality.
• Use our branding, trademarks, or logos without prior written permission.

7. Third-Party Services

The App may rely on third-party services for artificial intelligence processing and image recognition.

Examples may include:

• OpenAI
• OpenRouter

MathPal AI is not responsible for third-party services, outages, delays, or external content. Your use of these services may also be subject to their applicable terms and privacy policies.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis.

We make no warranties regarding:

• The accuracy of AI-generated solutions or explanations.
• The reliability of flashcards, quizzes, or study materials generated by the App.
• Continuous, secure, or uninterrupted access to the App.
• Error-free operation or correction of defects.
• Suitability of the App for any particular educational purpose.

We do not guarantee that AI outputs will always be accurate, complete, current, or appropriate for your needs.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MathPal AI shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to:

• Incorrect or incomplete AI-generated solutions.
• Errors in flashcards or quizzes.
• Academic decisions or outcomes based on App-generated content.
• Lost study materials or user data.
• Unauthorized access to your information.
• Indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages.

Your use of the App is at your own risk.

10. Data and Account Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the App at any time if:

• You violate these Terms.
• You misuse the App or its services.
• Such action is required by law or necessary to protect the security and integrity of the App.

You may discontinue use of the App at any time.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after any updates constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
